On Friday the 26th of April, the very keen children in Fox Class and Wombat Class, travelled to Lackford Lakes. The children described the journey as interesting, explaining it went quickly because they saw lots of wildlife from the windows. When the coach pulled up, they all excitedly shouted "Lackford Lakes!". We were greeted by Sophie and her team of helpers, all enthusiastic to get started. In addition to snack time, lunch time and visiting the shop (which were some children's favourite part of the day!), the children took part in three different activities. Throughout the day, the children worked in different groups and were given a learning partner. The activities included pond dipping, mini-beast hunting and looking at how to swap non-recyclable plastics for something more eco-friendly. It was great to hear the children talking about things they had learnt during this time and recalling facts when asked. As staff, we were very pleased with the way the children worked together and support each other during tasks, shared equipment and listened to information being given to them by adults.
