Thank you for visiting our class page, here is a bit of information about Badger Class. Mr Bishop is our teacher with Mrs Constable teaching on a Friday afternoon. Mrs Smith is also in Badger class to support our learning, and she is in every day apart from Friday afternoons where Mrs Skeats comes in to support instead.
We love learning in Badger class and we underpin all learning with 6 Rs – respect, relationships, resilience, risk-taking, resourcefulness and reflection. Children who show these qualities are rewarded with family points, marbles in the jar, star awards, pride awards and Head teacher awards. We have colourful displays in our classrooms that help us to be resourceful. We are a great team who show fantastic relationships by always helping each other. We ensure that nobody is left in the learning pit and always try to have positive attitudes. We are also very resilient and never say that we can't do something, instead we say: 'We can't do it... yet!'. Furthermore, we are a very kind and caring class who regularly check in on each other's wellbeing and often try to fill up people’s buckets. Mr Bishop encourages a very active class, and promotes both regular physical activity and healthy eating where possible.
We have extremely busy and exciting days filled with learning through covering the core curriculum subjects in the morning and the wider curriculum subjects in the afternoon. Through Science, we have explored and examined Rocks, studied how forces work and most recently have learnt all about Animals and Human bodies – inside and out! Through our topics we have enjoyed learning about ‘The Romans’ and ‘The beautiful British Isles’ and our current topic is a ‘Local Study’. While learning about the Romans we were risk-takers and explored the underground of Colchester Castle. In Badger class, we are very respectful towards both children and adults, and are always reflective with our thoughts, feelings and trying to improve our work.
