Hedgehog Class provides a safe and nurturing environment for children with individual learning needs. Lessons are tailored to each child, including maths, phonics, literacy, sensory activities, mark making, and motor skills. This helps children develop skills at their own pace and work towards their personal targets.
Our class follows a structured routine with work stations, small group activities, and a Regulation Station to support emotional wellbeing. Children have access to sensory activities such as weighted blankets, cushion tunnels, trampolining, and tactile play to help them self-regulate and engage with learning.
Children also take part in specialist interventions, including speech and language support and targeted learning activities, alongside continuous provision in areas like reading, construction, mark making, and maths. Each activity is designed to promote independence, curiosity, and confidence.
Through play, exploration, and structured learning, children develop communication, social, emotional, and early academic skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
